# MonoDevelop - SharpDevelop on Linux w/ Mono

Just found out about [this](http://www.gotdotnet.com/Community/Workspaces/Workspace.aspx?id=0a5cb736-2469-49f9-86c3-0440c3b6946a), MonoDevelop is a port of [SharpDevelop](http://www.icsharpcode.net/OpenSource/SD) to Linux using [Mono](http://www.go-mono.com) ([more news](http://primates.ximian.com/~miguel/archive/2004/Jan-14.html)) it actually [looks pretty good](http://primates.ximian.com/~miguel/all.html#2%2F3%2F04+12%3A00%3A00+a), I am really going to have to try this out - I'm all for MS but some clients just won't consider using MS products, being able to offer Linux / Apache based hosting for apps developed on MS platforms (maybe using [MySQL](http://crlab.com/mysqlnet/)) would just rule...
